My name is Kelsey and I am a White, Cuban-American director and playwright based in Washington, D.C. I strive to make visceral theatre that audience members can feel in their gut and taste on their tongue–and I am still exploring exactly how to make this happen. My writing centers women and explores the danger of reducing us through oppression, stereotypes, or our own beliefs. I am most interested in working with artists who will add their own brilliance and insight into the mix. If my writing or my direction unleashes the artistry of another, that is a victory.

I prioritize continuous anti-racist learning, and unlearning harmful habits and ideas based in White supremacy. With each rehearsal, I want to be better at cultivating community, trust, and liberation.
